- "She's right, Richard. Our family, they died because of the magic, I can't let yourself end up like that."
- —Steve talking to Richard.[src]
Steve Montana is a witch and a member of the Montana Family. For generations, his family was in a feud with their neighbors, the Callaway Family. At some point, his family was cursed with the plague, leaving Steve with permanent scars on the right side his face.
History[]
Feuding Years[]
During one of their fights, Steve accidentally killed his brother's fiancée Olivia Callaway, though it appeared like she was killed by one of her own. When Olivia returned as a spirit, she revealed that Steve was the one who killed her during a seance. This resulted in the families reignited the feud until they made peace to save Richard from being killed by Olivia, who had possessed Paige.[1]
Post-Feud Life[]
Some time later, Steve moved out of the family estate and did pro bono work in court. He also stopped using magic, though he reluctantly helped Richard find a book on potions to banish the karma of Mata Hari.[2]
As Paige grew more concerned about Richard using magic recklessly, she decided to host an intervention and called/summoned his family. Steve noted how their family died because of magic and that he did not want the same to happen to him. However, Richard refused to listen and left.[3]
