A Soul Agreement is a magical and fatal agreement in which those involved must follow through on their promise. Should they fail to deliver their promise, they will die. The only other way to break such a pact would be for one party to be killed by the other's hand.
History[]
Montgomery Knox entered into a soul agreement with his old mentor, Aldar Kose. The terms were Kose would teach Knox all sorts of magic, and he in turn would assist him in his mission when Kose calls on him 33 years later. It was only 33 years later when Kose resurfaced that Knox realized he wanted to use his students as hosts for the Old Ones.
Leo Wyatt entered such an agreement with Montgomery to find out what he could about the Ancient Athame. Knox sought out Leo a while later to make him deliver the promise: the Charmed Ones to help him fight against his old mentor. Since Phoebe was on a book tour, Piper and Paige decided to make do with themselves. They fought Kose to keep him from implanting Knox Academy students with the seeds of the Old Ones. Phoebe, feeling her sisters in danger, went to help them. Having all three Charmed Ones together, Leo successfully delivered his promise and was thus spared death.[1]
