Poseidon is the Greek god of the sea.
Poseidon violated Medusa in the most horrific way when she went to check on Athena by orders of the Elders. She was in love with Poseidon, and easily fell victim to his abuse. Because the violation happened in Athena's temple, she was punished by the goddess who turned her into a gorgon for defiling her temple and to warn the Elders that they would punish anyone who came at their behest.
Since Poseidon was a mortal with divine powers, he eventually died.[1]
Notes and Trivia[]
- In Soul of the Bride, Piper mentioned that Poseidon, Zeus and Hades drew lots to decide how to divide the realms and who would rule over those parts. While Zeus won ownership of Mount Olympus (he drew the longest) and Hades became the lord of the Underworld for drawing the shortest, Poseidon became the ruler of the sea for drawing the second longest.
