"As the new regional V.P. of Bucklands auction houses, I'll be implementing a new course of action for the new millennium. The problem is I don't know any of you well enough to know who's worth keeping and who's not."
—Caldwell to his employees.[src]

Mr. Cauldwell was the regional vice president of Buckland Auction House, having gained the function in early 2000 after the auction house was sold to new owners. His appointment and new course for Buckland was part of the reason Prue Halliwell decided to quit her job there.

History[]

Shortly after starting at Buckland, Cauldwell called an emergency meeting for his staff. Seeking to assess his employees, he assigned them into pairs and tasked them with finding $100,000 worth of merchandise if they wanted to keep their jobs. He partnered Prue with Jack Sheridan after calling her out for being late. As Prue was forced to deal with Barbas after a failed assassination by Miss Hellfire, she bailed on Jack. However, she later brought in the assassin's collection of clothing and jewels to earn enough for the both of them.[1]

Some time later, Cauldwell planned on sending two employees to a conference in New York and Prue and Jack were hoping to go together. In order to get the invite, they needed to prepare a presentation, though Prue was distracted with taking care of a baby and a vengeful ghost seeking to kill the child. Jack eventually finished the presentation on his own and Cauldwell decided to cut Prue out of the trip. Jack convinced Cauldwell that he needed Prue, though she decided to pass. In the end, Jack decided not to go either, as he didn't want to go without Prue.[2]

Buckland later obtained a painting which was seemingly a Monet and Cauldwell was determined to sell it quickly, as he had several potential buyers. Prue determined that the painting was not a Monet, but rather painted by one of his students. Jack wanted to sell the painting as a Monet regardless and Cauldwell agreed with him. Feeling uncomfortable with this and the general change in direction in Buckland led Prue to quit her job.[3]

Appearances[]

Mr. Cauldwell appeared in 3 episodes over the course of the series.
