Hi, I'm sending this message to all (active) admins. I was looking through the wiki policy and I was wondering if it's time to evaluate/update it. I would like to hear the opinions of all admins and perhaps discuss it further.
I would like to know why you blocked my other account? Technically yeah its fake but then again so is everything on this site, so what if its fanfiction who are you to say that that it isn't real to others??? Also I will be creating my own charmed wiki!
"Karlie Halliwell" is not a character in the Charmed world.. she is a made up creation by you... stuff like that cannot be added on this Wiki. If you would like to create your own Charmed Wiki, you have every right and we wish you the best of luck.
I'm contacting you as one of the admins since you've already been working on infoboxes, hoping you'll bring it up for discussion with the community:
We’re reaching out to a few of our top communities, hoping to get you on board with the migration to the new infobox markup. And we have tools to help.
Why we’re doing this
Simply put: Most current infobox structures translate very poorly to mobile devices, and indeed any device that doesn’t use desktop-style displays. On desktops and laptops, they often look amazing. The problem is that more and more of our contributors visit Wikia from a mobile device.
To see just how much traffic has become mobile, you can check out this graph from our forum post about infoboxes a couple weeks back:
We partnered with the Wikia community to create this new markup to make sure that your hard work can be displayed on mobile devices (as well as any future technologies) easily and without any new coding conventions. It'll take some effort up front, but we’re here to help with it, and the work you put in now will pay for itself tenfold in the future.
Tools we’ve designed to make the process easier
We've enabled two new features on your community. One is a tool for migrating the "old" infobox code to the new markup. It identifies templates on your wikia that look like infobox templates and places a box on the right rail of the template page. When you click the "Generate draft markup" button in this box, it opens a new tab containing a draft of your infobox using the new markup. This won't contain your previous CSS styling, though (assuming you've used any), and if you want the infoboxes to still look the same on desktop, you'll have to add it to Special:CSS instead of into the template, where it was before.
The second is a new feature on Special:Insights that will highlight which infoboxes on your wikia have not been migrated to the new infobox markup. It's fairly intuitive - you can click on the infobox title link itself to see the old markup, or simply click the "Convert!" button on the right, which performs the same action as the "Generate draft markup" button.
I remember that you had all those planned storylines on Simon Marks's talkpage and then it was like that never happened. I wanted to see if you are gonna write it. Do you have a name for your series? What about "Mystical Paths" Paige and Simon and their destines and paths in life. Will it be canon to Charmed or a alternative reality? I read once a series where Simon tried again but he almost by a mistake got her children killed.
Will Piper and Phoebe vist? Does that mean she never will met Henry? In my Season 2 Paige gives birth to twins a son and a daughter. My series is called Wizardry Quest I have a wiki. You can find the wiki on my Userpage. If you want to visit.
When you start to write your series picture it as when you are on acting auditions. You post your first episode and another "directors" read it and then they give you a review. I was trying to make it relatable to your acting career.
I have got good and bad sometimes neutral reviews about my series. It's good to have feedback. However, don't write for them, who cares what they think? If they don't like it, well sucks to be them then. No one forced them to read it. I have disclaimers on my episodes which warns people not to read them. If they don't care about the warnings they can't blame me. Write for yourself.
After a while of writing my series. It feels like my characters have a will of their own and I am following them. Charmdozo has three series and KhanWiz has two and P3nathan has two as well. I tried to have two but it didn't work. I am just one series writer. There are many other editors too. So don't feel bad you are not alone. It took me a while to write my series.
I tried once with a Charmed series which was about two Half Witch Half Darklighter siblings who tries to be good but after 8 episodes it did not work. But after few years I tried again and fail about a series which was about Amazon Witches after some time again. But like the expression says the third time is the Charmed. Wizardry Quest was born after my first episode I created my wiki. In my Season 3 the World knows about the Magical Community due to the events from Season 2.
I know what you mean. Real life issues always comes first. If you are busy I don't want to look like I am bothering you. I was only excited by your series even that I don't like Simon Marks. If you don't want to or you can not write it. I wouldn't pressure you.
It can take me two months to write one episode when I have the time or feel like to write my series. I don't get paid for this so I am in no hurry.
I saw some comments that some fans think that Simon could if he was desperate enough to switch places and pretend to be Henry to marry and get Paige knocked up to make the premonitions come true. There are fans who say sure, he is stuck up jerk. But he would never go that far.
I work part time at a hybrid building which is part Medicial Center and a Retirement Home. I am in a group which is like a version of Janitors mostly for the nurses so they have more time for the seniors at the Retirement side of the building and part time I work on another job with different stuff.
Is it posted anywhere? Do you use your skills as a actress to write your novells? I just go with the flow. Is it spin offs from tv shows? How does it going with your series about Simon and Paige? Are you gonna create a wiki for your series?
Hi, I wanted to ask something because you are also an actress. Some time now I have read that several famous actors and actresses have tried to discourage their children not to follow their footsteps. But welcome being a writer a lawyer any other line of work.
Call me crazy, but doesn't parents usually want their children to go in their footsteps? They don't force per se but rather encourage them.
I would assume it is because how ruthless Hollywood can be. It takes a strong person to survive it and endure. They probably just don't want their children going through the stress of that life; the bad influencing, drugs, drinking, etc...eating disorders...just so many dangers.
Very very few actors make it to A-list level. You have to audition every single day that you can and commit to it 100%. And most struggling actors have side jobs as waiters and stuff... because you have to pay the bills and work, but you also have to make it to auditions... it is just very hard work. That was difficult for me... having to work to pay rent, but also trying to make it to auditions without losing your paying job.
I thought your question was more geared toward established actors and their children... like Meryl Streep or something (which her daughter /is/ an actress) I do believe those actors have it easier, because their parents sort of paved a way for them. But a lot may not want their children in acting, for the reasons I mentioned previously.
I am not a fan of nepotism but I heard it pretty much a ruling force in Hollywood. When I watch a movie, I can see that some actors or actresses would have never been in a few movies,
I wouldn't care much beside like how Shannen and Holly Marie helped each getting jobs at Charmed. But if the children were talented on their own not because the director is feeling pressured by their parents who owe the movie studio, you can not blame anything, your kids suck at acting. By a grown up and deal with it.
I have been annoyed by things in movie trailers. The thing which would when some scenes are showned on the trailers don't exist in the movie. Why is that?
Did they create the trailers before the movie? It can be seen as no big difference, but I consider it part of the attraction and perfect scenes are removed. I understand if a scene is too long or so but sometimes it nothing then perfect. They don't sometimes put that in the deleted scenes.
As movies are in production, they may release a teaser trailer... like in Star Wars, perhaps just Darth Vader breathing or something. I would even call this a pre-teaser trailer. lol Then as the movie continues to film and more scenes are developed, you'll get another little hint of things, up until the main trailer is released (by this time the movie is in post-production). Trailers will only give you enough information to know a story plot/idea... maybe some cool visuals to interests the viewer, a cliffhanging moment perhaps, and nothing more.
I know the Trailers are a very big part of marking the movie. But sometimes, a movie was so bad the director actually apologizes for the hours of people's lives and I feel respect for him for dare to admit what people did think.
Definitely. Some directors will admit when they know certain movies of theirs are s*it. lol Trailers can almost make any move look good... /almost/. I hated the new Batman/Superman trailer and KNEW it would suck... sure enough the critics and fans slammed it.
I gave up on Superman and Batman since Batman and Robin and Superman Returns. But I think it's disrespectful towards the people. When directors admits I know my movies suck but I still get paid because you are too stupid to watch it.
I love watching one of my favorite movie The Time Machine (2002) it's based on the novel by H.G Wells 1895 and his great grandson Simon Wells was marking the movie. I could feel they cared when they made the movie.
I have felt it was staged to get attention as it does not seem to be just a coincidence when I hear a script was leaked. Because, the actors / actresses does not know about the show or movie until they start filming it. And if the Director or Script Writer was the one who leaked it? Could I be wrong?
