"And you think you can stop me, hmm? Think you can save him? I kind of admire that level of arrogance."
—Kellman to Prue Halliwell.[src]

Kellman was the demonic leader of the Demonic Academy, a brutal training program that destroyed the humanity of mortals and turns them into demons. As leader of the Academy, Kellman directly answered to the Source of All Evil. Like his students, Kellman was once a mortal himself.

Early Life[]

Kellman was once mortal before going through the demonic training program. He earned a total of eight chevrons, two more than the required six. The Source of All Evil eventually appointed him as the leader of the Academy, though he still possessed a soul, which was repressed by the training program.

Posing as a sports agent, he signed up several troubled athletes, offering them assistance and guidance when they were in financial trouble. He offered them a Faustian Deal to enroll them into the Academy. Before the recruits would graduate, they needed to kill an innocent to earn the sixth chevron and seal the demonic conversion. At the same time, he covered his tracks by pretending to support the families of his recruits.

Facing the Charmed Ones[]

In early 2001, Kellman made a deal with the Source to deliver five new demonic graduates. The last of these was Tom Peters, a former football player and the college boyfriend of Prue Halliwell. After her sister had a premonition, Prue saved an innocent from Tom and recognized him. Prue became determined to save Tom and managed to stir his humanity. When he returned to academy, Kellman sensed his humanity and forced him to fight one of his wrestlers.

When the Charmed Ones arrived, the fight was stopped and Prue made a deal, risking their lives in exchange for Tom if they could defeat his wrestlers. Kellman reluctantly agreed after Piper froze Tom. However, he betrayed the sisters during the fight by impaling Piper with a conjured metal ball, thus breaking her freeze. He took Tom to kill his own mother, whom Darryl Morris had brought to the manor.

Tom nearly killed his mother, though Prue and Phoebe arrived to stop him and Prue managed to get through to Tom. When Kellman threw a metal ball at his mother, Tom grabbed it and threw it back, killing him with his own weapon. At that moment, several lost souls summoned earlier by Phoebe's spell swirled around Kellman and claimed him as one of their own.
