Down the Saroyan Alley of San Francisco, Piper chases a demon. She yells an order to Paige to cut him off. She orbs in front of him. Phoebe appears as well. The sisters corner him. He creates several clones of himself and fights the sisters. Phoebe levitates and tries to deliver a kick but gets pulled down by the ankle, another throws Paige at Piper and they land in a pile of trash bags. Phoebe kicks one in the groin. Paige prepares to orb, but Piper blows them all up sans the real one. Meanwhile, the demon fires an Energy Bolt at Paige, but she deflects it back at him. The demon explodes. With all said and done, Paige orbs out to meet with her charge, but then immediately orbs back to take her sisters along.
In the Underworld, a demon scolds Charun, the demon who just narrowly escaped the Charmed Ones, for failing to stand against them even with his newly-bestowed power. Angered, Charun replicates himself and prepares to attack, but the demon takes the power back. Charun begs for mercy, but the demon sets him ablaze. From behind, another demon appears and extinguishes the fire. The new demon says that they need human life-force to strengthen them. They need souls. He also laments that combining powers with others was the right idea, but they simply used the wrong vessel.
The next morning at Halliwell Manor, Phoebe and Piper are having breakfast. Piper is stressed by the expenses at P3. Phoebe is also having trouble at work as Elise wants her to take a more serious role at the paper. Paige comes in and mentions the good she's been doing and the perks of being a celebrity advice columnist. Phoebe tells her maintaining a public persona is hard work, and Paige responds saying it isn't easy maintaining a magical persona either. She accidentally knocks over Piper's bill stack as she sits at the table, and talks about her new charge, Shaina, who is intimidated by her power. Paige grabs an apple and leaves the kitchen. Piper gives Phoebe advice. Phoebe gives Piper a hug and leaves for work. Piper begins going over her bills again when Leo orbs in behind her, startling her and drops all the papers on the floor. The Elders are worried about Paige and her, because stress affect her powers. Piper brings up not finding the demon from yesterday in the Book of Shadows and brings up more problems. She asks Leo to help her with the taxes. He instantly orbs away, leaving Piper alone again with all the paperwork.
At the Bay Mirror, Phoebe is in a meeting with Elise and three other people. They tell Phoebe about disclaimers and have her sign a stack of papers. Just then, Robin interrupts the meeting telling Phoebe she has a phone call from Piper. Phoebe takes the opportunity to leave the room. Bobby gives her the paper stack. Phoebe goes into her office and talks to Piper, who insists on needing her help. While they talk, Phoebe has a premonition of Piper being attacked from behind by a tax accountant. Phoebe calls for Leo and has him orb her to Piper at the accountant office. Robin and Elise barge into her office and find her gone. Elise angrily yells "Damn it, Phoebe" to the ceiling.
At the accountant's office, the accountant is about to stab Piper, but she reflexively freezes him. Phoebe and Leo arrive at the scene, but realize he was holding a pen and not a knife, much to Phoebe's confusion. She and Leo orb away while Piper unfreezes him and leaves the office. Alone, the accountant sits at his desk and the painting from behind magically forces his soul out through his mouth and a demon essence takes over the body. The new demon creates two clones.
In the Underworld, the accountant's soul gets tossed around. Djall tells him to not be rough with the soul, then turns his attention to his fellow demons. Surgat is angered by the fact that they gave him all of their powers and he only brought them one soul. Djall mentions the fact that he was once mortal and therefore knows humans better than anyone, and has now made portals for them to invade the human world by possessing humans. Surgat questions his plan, and Djall answers using imagination. As he speaks, we see an artist painting canvases.
