Hercules was a demi-god and possibly a son of Zeus.[1] He killed Hippolyta, who possessed the Golden Belt of Gaea. The assassination somehow caused the belt to compel every woman who ever possessed the belt's power to attempt to wipe out the male gender ever since.[2]
