Jean Dona Barley known professionally as Dona Hardy[1] (December 3, 1912 - February 13, 2011) was an American actress. She portrayed the elderly Paige Matthews in the episode Charrrmed!.



Dona was born in 1912 in Los Angeles to a single mother, but was raised by her grandparents. In the 1930's, she toured the United States with a dance troupe, but returned home because of the Great Depression. She started acting career at 66, after retiring from her job of being an Executive Director with a United Airway affiliate.

She married Irving Hardekopf in 1946, and the couple even adopted a son, who they named Bill. They remained together until Irving's death in 1980. Now widowed, she adapted her stage name from part of her married name, thus becoma Dona Hardy.

In 2009, she relocated with her son, Bill, a former president and general manager of the Birmingham Barons, to the Birmingham area, where she died on February 13, 2011, aged 98.


She mainly took roles as a sweet, harmless, elderly lady. Throughout her acting career she was able to work with numerous actors such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and John Ritter.
