Chris Barker was a business investor and collector whom Prue Halliwell enlisted when P3 was struggling to get off the ground.
History[]
Making a Deal[]
Barker met Prue Halliwell through her work at Buckland Auction House and developed an infatuation with her. When P3 was struggling to get off the ground, Prue approached Barker and he offered a loan free of interest. She and Phoebe agreed to the loan and decided not to tell Piper about it, as they did not want to worry her. During the negotiation, Barker continuously flirted with Prue and offered to take her to dinner in Paris, though Prue politely declined.
Shortly after her sisters accepted the loan, Piper informed them she had booked Dishwalla for the club. However, Leo later revealed that he had manipulated events so the sisters could vanquish Masselin, a demon who was granting the band's manager, Jeff Carlton, success and wealth in exchange for souls. Due to the popularity of the band, Prue decided to back out of the deal with Barker and met him at Buckland.
Betrayal[]
Barker was not pleased with Prue declining the loan and knew it was because of Dishwalla. Seeing the potential in the club now, he informed Prue that he was planning a hostile takeover and demanded two tickets to the performance. When Prue warned him not to come for his own sake, he believed Prue was threatening him.
Despite Prue not adding him to the guest list, Barker bribed the bouncer to get into the club. He confronted Prue and Piper, telling the latter that he was taking over and that she could possibly stay on in a diminished capacity. At the same time, Darryl Morris arrived to talk to the sisters about the missing women and Phoebe spotted Carlton leading Jenny Gordon to be devoured by Masselin. An overwhelmed Piper then froze the club and the sisters ran after Carlton.
The sisters managed to free Jenny and the other women before vanquishing Masselin. Barker then entered the room and was caught in the blast, splattering him with demonic slime. Prue then informed a stunned Barker that P3 belonged to the sisters and that if he ever bothered them again, there would be no doubt if she was threatening him. The following day, Barker pulled his offer, stating that he "didn't have the stomach for gruesome stage theatrics".
